Polaroid Eyewear, pioneer of polarized lenses

Polaroid is the inventor of the technology that changed the world of eyewear: polarizing filter for sunglasses. Everything started in 1929 with Edwin H. Land, who patented the world’s first synthetic polarizing material for commercial use.

Spreading this unique lens technology and allowing people to see more is our aim: see better, live better.

Polarization Features

Glare Free Vision and Clear Contrast

When light reflects off a shiny surface such as sand, water, snow or roads, it becomes concentrated horizontally and causes glare.

The vertically aligned filters block glare, allowing for clear and comfortable vision, while enhanced contrasts ensure greater visual definition.

True Colors and Clarity

Clarity and accurate color perception are maintained without darkening your view, providing a true-to-life visual experience.

Enhanced UV Protection and Comfort

Polaroid sunglasses provide 100% UV400 protection against UVA and UVB rays, reducing eye fatigue, squinting, and strain throughout the day. Their impact-absorbing lenses offer enhanced safety, while being lighter and more comfortable than glass, making them perfect for everyday wear.

Explore the layers of the Polaroid lens

POLARIZING FILTER

The central element is the polarizing filter, which eliminates reflections and provides a clear glare-free vision.

SHOCK ABSORBER

Shock-absorbing layers are then fused to both sides of the UV absorbers, making the lens light, flexible and impact resistant.

SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COLOR

An additional layer that, besides providing texture and structure, also gives color to the lens.

UV 400 FILTER

UV light absorbers are glued on both sides: these block all harmful UVA and UVB rays, allowing useful light to pass through to the eye.

SCRATCH RESISTANT LAYERS

An anti-scratch layer on both external surfaces completes the structure of the TAC lens.
